I AM NOT INTO QUICK FIXES OR FADS -- I DON’T SUBSCRIBE TO THEM AND I DON’T PROMOTE THEM
Time to get off the Merry Go Round
In today’s world we get so caught up in the idea of training more and eating less through all sorts of fads, gimmicks, and restrictive diets when in fact what we need to do the complete opposite. It’s time to take a step back and think about getting off the merry go round. Only until then will we be truly healthier and happier — for the longer term.
It’s time to do what is right for YOU and YOUR body and nobody else’s. Everyone is different, every BODY is different inside and out. I have seen and read so many videos, articles and posts, which claim to have the answer to your problems — from being gluten free, vegan, or keto to managing your digestive system, hormones, or circadian rhythm. For some, these are legitimate health issues that people need to manage (and if so you should consult with a certified professional), but if you find yourself just trying it for yourself thinking it is “healthier” for you and will be the quick fix or magic wand that you need, chances are you are just following the latest fad. And the truth? That latest fad might not be right for YOU or YOUR body and you may be doing more damage than good.
Let’s face it, ultimately a fad or obsession is never a good thing in the end. It is not a lifestyle nor does it often create good or healthy habits.
Not all habits are created equal
If you want to make a change and change your world it all begins with cultivating good habits. Be consistent, take one day and one week at a time. Take a smart approach and acknowledge that it may take more and more patience as you get closer to your goal.
Have a POSITIVE mindset
It is all about creating a positive mindset. Try focusing on what you should ADD MORE of, not what you should take away or restrict. We often associate things being taken away from us or restricted from us as a punishment for something we did that was considered wrong or bad. This immediately puts us on the defensive and with a negative mindset. As a result we can feel easily unmotivated and discouraged by the smallest thing or the smallest setback. If we focus on things that seem more positive in nature, you will approach it much more differently and most likely with a happier and healthier attitude. So try focusing on habits and goals where you are actually adding more of something. For example, try adding more lean protein, more hydration by drinking more water, more vegetables and fruit, more walking, more resistance etc. For those of you who are focusing on your mental health, perhaps try adding more time for yourself — read a book, meditate, journal, light a candle, take a bath, dance around or listen to MUSIC!
Your habits will determine your future
Remember progress is impossible if you always do things the way you have always done them. You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily and in a more positive way. The secret to your success is found in your daily routine and what works for you!

Here is my quick and easy gluten free pizza recipe that was featured on my Instagram that you have all been raving about!
JJ’s Quick and Easy Gluten Free Chicken and Bell Pepper Pesto Pizza
Ingredients:
Capello’s frozen Almond Flour Naked Pizza Crust
Chicken Breast
Yellow Bell Pepper
Orange Bell Pepper
Burrata Cheese or Mozzarella Cheese
Pesto sauce
Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees or turn your grill on high. Take the Capello’s Almond Flour Naked Pizza Crust out of the freezer and set aside. Slice yellow and orange bell peppers into slices. Cook on the grill or in a pan with very light olive oil and pinch of salt for taste. Set aside once cooked. Take you chicken breast, season with a little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, place on grill or in a pan until fully cooked. Slice chicken into pieces and set aside.
Place pizza crust on a baking sheet or pizza stone if you are using an oven. If you are using the grill, place the crust on a large cutting board or something where you can easily slide the pizza onto the grill.
Take the pizza crust and spread pesto sauce. Amount of pesto depends all on how much or how little pesto you like on your pizza. Generously spread chicken slices and pepper slices on your pizza followed by cut up the burrata or mozzarella.
Turn your grill down to medium, place pizza directly on grill. Close the top of your grill to allow pizza to cook. Check pizza every few minutes until the crust is cooked and cheese has melted. If you are using an oven, place pizza in the oven. (The crust can cook very quickly so keep an eye on it.)
Once your pizza is cooked to your liking remove from grill or oven and enjoy!
Bon appetite!

Sound advice and approach!! The fads don’t work….period. I love the portion on self-care as that is where it starts!! Keep the sound tidbits coming and get folks off of the merry go round!!
YES! Every Body is different! I can say from personal experience, once I stopped doing/eating what “I should” per fads and listened to what felt best and worked for me, I have felt amazing!
