Drown out all the noise and rhetoric
so you can start listening to what YOUR body actually needs
You have heard me say it before. We often get so caught up in fads, gimmicks, and restrictive diets that have worked for other people and expect them to work for ourselves. We are inundated with stories and rhetoric from others about what has worked for them and why you should eat the exact same way. But let’s face it. We are all different. That is what makes us each unique from one another. We have different needs, goals and challenges that as individuals we seek to overcome.
Nutrition is not a one size fits all - but basic principals are for EVERYONE.
We need to take control and listen to our bodies and what it needs. Don’t just follow the latest fad thinking that it is a “healthier” lifestyle for you and is the answer to all YOUR problems. Because that fad may not be right for YOU or YOUR body and you may be doing more damage than good. Especially when it comes to generalized protocols or diets which espouse to be based on biochemistry, metabolism, genetics, hormones and microbiota. If you want something based on the underpinnings of biochemistry and hormones that really works for your needs, then the best advice I can give you is to meet with a registered dietician or a medical professional specializing in your exact needs who can design something specifically for you and your body, and only you.
That being said, there are solid basic principles and guidance around how we should be thinking about and approaching nutrition for our own personal needs and goals that we can all follow and incorporate as part of our overall approach and lifestyle.
As a certified nutrition specialist and certified nutrition coach, I have successfully helped many of my clients understand how to listen to their bodies and reach their nutritional goals in a more healthy and long lasting way. One basic principal I have taught all my clients is the importance of protein and why it should be a priority.
Over the next month, we will be focusing exclusively on this basic principal of prioritizing protein. Each week during the month of September, I will be sharing more guidance and information on this topic, recipes, and I will answer your questions to debunk any myths about protein in order to help you start building a solid long lasting foundation for a healthy approach to your nutrition. So if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe below, so you can stay informed on the latest information that I will be sharing!
I have done this and feel have totally messed up my metabolism. Doing programs that exclude gluten dairy and various other foods saying this will help your microbiome. Then when adding these foods back in I feel horrible. I have been tested snd am not allergic or sensitive. So I think it is just my body was not used to it snd it made me feel rotten. Eating real foods little processed as possible is what I want to try with this next round of Back to Job1 with prioritizing protein.
Prioritizing protein is helping me a long way and as I learn more about it and listening to my body . I can’t wait for this month to focus on protein and learning new recipe .
